This class is for beginner and intermediate guitarists who want to become limitless on the fretboard and speak the language of music fluently on the guitar. This course will take guitar players who have a basic knowledge of chords/scales/songs, and transform them into competent musicians who can find all the notes on the guitar, identify riffs by ear, visualize where they are played on the fretboard, and improvise in any key. The goal of this course is to give you complete freedom on the fretboard and turn you into a REAL musician. Diagrams, tabs, and resources will be provided.

Fretboard Mapping
Fretboard Mapping
Everything we play has notes, and it’s important to visualize where those notes are on the fretboard. Fretboard mapping will allow you to hear a song by ear and find it on the fretboard.
Basic Theory
Basic Theory
Music is a language and it's vital to understand this language in order to comprehend what we are playing and communicate with other musicians. Basic music theory will allow you to communicate effectively as musicians.
CAGED System
CAGED System
The CAGED System is a tool to help apply music theory to the guitar fretboard. Everything you learn on the guitar (such as triads, chords, scales, modes, etc.) can be broken down into 5 simple shapes with the CAGED System.
Major Pentatonic Scale
Major Pentatonic Scale
The Major Pentatonic Scale is a fundamental scale for guitarists. With only 5 notes, this simple scale is perfect to start outlining the fretboard.
Major Scale
Major Scale
The Major Scale is the foundation for everything in music. Understanding the major scale will allow you to become limitless in any key for both rhythm and lead playing.
Triads
Triads
When building chords and different voicings, it is important to have a solid understanding of triads. Triads also help when improvising because the notes of the triad fit well over the triad/chord being played.
Minor Pentatonic Scale
Minor Pentatonic Scale
The Minor Pentatonic Scale is a great way to introduce our ear to improvising in a minor key.
Modes
Modes
Despite the fact that most guitar players find modes intimidating, they are actually quite simple. In this class we will look at modes "diatonically" - related to a key's major scale.
Improvisation
Improvisation
Learning scales is great! But it is also important to learn how to use these scales creatively. This is where improvisation comes into play.

OMG Where do I even begin with this! I always knew there was SYSTEM to the guitar! No matter how many clips, videos, tutorials I viewed online it just never made sense! NEVER! Every single one said something different about the same thing. Then God sent me Caitlin!!!! Holy Moly! She made it so PERFECTLY clear in the first session! It literally blew me away! Every class just built on the previous revelations and the next and the next. It was such a systematic well thought out way of teaching the info that connected the "dots" (for me) every class! I can't tell enough people about it and several of my band mates have said they are going to join her next session. I found the Zero to Hero class after doing a trial of "Secret Weapons", which was a bit too advanced for me. I remember her mentioning her "Zero to Hero" class during this session and it sounded like it was exactly the class I needed. So two things here... 1. Thank you Til for allowing trial runs of classes as it allowed me to find out about this class and 2. I am now ready for "Secret Weapons" as I feel like Caitlin has given me the tools I need to be able to understand many of the topics she covers in that class! Caitlin's nothing short of amazing and if your really want to "Understand the Language of Music" and not just learn the chords to a song, know how to move around the fret board with ease, and take your guitar knowledge to the next level THIS is the class for you! This is the teacher for you! This is what you're looking for! :-) Sonya Bianco #zero2herobaby!!!

I felt Caitlan did a great job presenting the material. For me personally, she moved faster than I was able to keep up with. I hope as I work through the lessons and questions arise I will arrange private lessons to stay on track.

Caitlin's Zero to Hero course demystified all the things about guitar and music that I thought I would never understand. She provided the structure and methodology that have truly taken my knowledge to a level where I have a new confidence and desire to advance my skills much further. Besides being extremely knowledgeable, patient and committed, she made all of the lessons very interesting and fun! The material she provides is also top notch and helped guide me in between the lessons. I feel like I've finally gained the solid foundation that has eluded me with all prior instructors. I highly recommend Caitlin and her Zero to Hero course.

Caitlin is an amazing teacher, I'ver tried other classes on Til, this is the first class on Til I've started and finished. Caitlin is special, I knew after the first lesson I found my guitar teacher.

Caitlin is an awesome guitar teacher! I only have one suggestion: Increase the size and type of the mouse cursor on the screen sharing display because the pointer is too small to see when moving around the charts.
